I have a 1982 Honda odyssey FL250
It has an aftermarket electric start kit installed was $400.00 Dollars by itself has the starter start button on the dash and battery tray and starter relay…Front and rear tires are aftermarket much more aggressive and a thicker ply than the stock bubble tires and is probably $300 in newer tires…
The motor had low compression so I removed it and pulled it apart took all of about a half hour… A piston ring caught the exhaust port so it resulted in compression loss… cylinder is still in great shape on the standard factory bore .. could probably get by with a quick hone new piston and rings and gaskets $100-125 in parts… bottom end has a little play side to side which should be ok but no play up and down… Nice thing about this machine is its as basic to work on as it gets no radiators and the motor literally takes 20 minutes to remove —
My other option rather than refreshing the motor was to put a snowmobile motor in it which is a very common mod and upgrade since it uses cvt style clutches as well…. or basically an other motor with a 1 inch shaft to accept the stock clutch as well ive seen harbor freight motors in these things… Frame is straight and soldid with roll bar….Could use a quick paint job fenders come of quick and brush it or spray it… fenders were painted a checkered design it can be clean off or sprayed over
Plastics are all there ,, throttle cable is good brake cable is frozen – $16.00 online… Have a seat that comes with it just have to make some quick mounting brackets…. 5 of these listed in a large search distance on craigslist…..
$1200 — $1600 — $1800 –$2200 — and mine for $400…. so once again since I got multiple people lowballing and no one understand what the word firm means… Price is FIRM don’t waste my time or yours … these are getting rare…
